How long does production take?
PLEASE NOTE: Production and shipping times may be delayed during and after our Sitewide Sales.
General Policy:
Orders begin processing immediately. Orders without a Personalized or Fine/Demi-Fine item ship within 3 business days. Orders with a Personalized or Fine/Demi-Fine item take up to 7 business days to ship.
Orders containing pre-order items will be held and shipped in full once the pre-order becomes available.
Please note: We do our best to ship orders out as quickly as possible and begin working on them right away. Because of this, we're not able to make changes once an order is placed — including edits to items or shipping addresses.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
PLEASE NOTE: Production and shipping times may be delayed during and after our Sitewide Sales.
Made-to-order items are crafted by hand and may ship separately from other items in your order. If your order ships in multiple packages, you'll receive separate tracking information for each shipment.
Once production is complete, orders ship via USPS with an estimated delivery time of 3-5 business days. Expedited options, including UPS 2-Day and UPS Overnight, are also available. For Fine/Demi-Fine jewelry, the 7 business day production time still applies before items can be shipped with expedited service. Orders containing pre-order items will be held and shipped in full once the pre-order becomes available.
Is there a warranty?
All jewelry excluding Fine and Demi-Fine includes a one-year warranty covering material and workmanship defects, along with a lifetime color warranty.
Our Fine and Demi-Fine jewelry includes a lifetime warranty, including lifetime color coverage, with repair or replacement for material or workmanship issues.
The lifetime warranty remains in effect for as long as the original purchaser owns the piece.
All warranties exclude lost items, normal wear and tear, and damage from improper use or storage.
Please note: warranty policies are void if jewelry is taken to another jeweler for repairs or modifications. This includes resizing or any other work performed outside of James Michelle.
Our warranty is designed to take care of your jewelry through repair or replacement, and does not cover incidental or consequential damages. In some cases, shipping costs associated with warranty services may apply.

What is the return and exchange policy?
We offer returns on eligible items for a refund, exchange, or store credit. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of the order date, and items must be clean, unworn, and free from signs of wear or damage. Refunds are issued to your original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days after we receive and inspect your return.
A $6 return/exchange fee will apply when your return is processed.
Free Gifts & Returns
Free gifts are earned by meeting a qualifying threshold (e.g., a minimum order value or a specific qualifying item). If you return part of your order and your remaining order value falls below the threshold that earned the gift, the gift is no longer included.In that case, you may either:
- Return the free gift along with your other items, or
- Keep the gift, and we'll deduct its retail value from your refund.
If your order value remains above the qualifying threshold after a partial return, the gift is yours to keep.
Final Sale Items
The following items are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund:
Personalized Jewelry: Any custom, engraved, personalized, or made-to-order pieces are final sale.
Fine/Demi-Fine Jewelry: All Fine/Demi-Fine jewelry is handmade to order and is final sale. Please confirm your sizing before purchasing.
Sets must be returned or exchanged as a complete set, not individually.
To start a return, please visit our Returns & Exchanges Portal with your order number and shipping zip code. Returns may take up to 14 days to process once received, and a $6 return/exchange fee applies. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days after processing is complete.
